 The Spencer Hospital Laboratory is a highly automated and complex lab, staffed 24 hours per day. State-of-the-art instrumentation is evident in all areas of the laboratory, including microbiology, hematology, coagulation, chemistry, and the blood bank. Most testing is performed in-house, supporting plans of care for both hospital in-patients and out-patients. In addition to that testing, the laboratory serves the commercial industry by being a certified drug and alcohol collection facility and taking part in numerous health fairs in the community throughout the year. The laboratory has successfully been granted a CLIA (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act) certificate of compliance and voluntarily participates in the American Association of Blood Bank’s quality certification program. |
