Clay County Public Health - Clay County Public Health works in partnership with agencies in Clay County and the Iowa Department of Public Health to prepare and respond to health related emergencies or disasters. Clay County Public Health is also focused on wellness and prevention. Health prevention activities are accomplished by several programs including weekly Childhood Immunization Clinics held each Tuesday and Wednesday, quarterly Wellness Screenings, weekly blood pressure screenings, participation in the Childhoold Lead Poisoning Program, and much more. Lifeline Services - The Lifeline program provides people with health concerns greater independence as they and their families can be comforted in knowing that emergency medical help can be easily accessed with the push of a button. Home Health Services Skilled nursing is provided to clients in their homes for acute or chronic illness. Home Health nurses provide direct care - such as changing dressing on wounds, drawing blood, giving injections, etc. as well as educate their patients about their illness and treatment, and provide nursing assessments. Hospice of Northwest Iowa Hospice is a comprehensive program of care and support for terminally ill patients and their families when aggressive treatment to obtain a cure is no longer deemed appropriate. A team of health professionals and lay volunteers work together with the patient and family. Homemaker/Home Health Aides Certified Homemaker-Home Health Aides provide a variety of services for patients in their homes such as personal care and hygiene, light housekeeping and laundry, meal planning and preparation, and grocery shopping. Call 712-264-6382 for more information.

Maternal and Child Health Maternal & Child Health Nurses provide counseling and education to expectant parents. Check our calendar for a list of upcoming classes. Follow-up home visits are also made to new parents and babies, and health education is provided for children at preschool and school facilities. Call 712-264-6380.
Health Promotion Community Health Nurses and Registered Dietitians provide health education to the public at work sites, schools, health fairs (including the Clay County Fair!), and group meetings. Wellness screenings are offered to the public regularly. The focus is on prevention and education to help people make wise health decisions. Call 712-264-6380.
Psychiatric Home Care Certified psychiatric/mental health nurses provide care to patients with primary psychiatric disorders or secondary emotional problems in the patients homes.
