Abben Cancer Center provides comprehensive cancer treatment, including medical oncology, radiation oncology and surgical services. Our professional team works to meet our patients' health and wellness needs through social services, nutrition counseling, financial consultation, availability of certified breast health navigators, and other educational and support services. 

Position is full-time benefit eligble.

Responsibilities: 

• The Medical Oncology Nurse is responsible for providing direct and indirect physical, psychosocial and spiritual care for patients with cancer and other related disease processes.
• The Oncology nurse will also act as the patient’s advocate and educator.

Requirements:

• Current RN license in the state of Iowa
• 1 year RN experience required
• BLS is required
• Oncology Certification (OCN) is preferred but not mandatory
• Chemotherapy & Biotherapy Certification required prior to completion of orientation/chemo administration- class time will be allocated to ensure completion of this within 6 months of hire
• Attends/engages in continued education opportunities related to oncology care annually and as required for certifications
• BSN preferred

Job Schedule:

• 63 hours per pay period OR 72 hours per period 
• 9 hour shifts
• Mon-Fri 7:30a-5p OR 8a-4:30p
• The schedule may fluctuate based upon needs of the department
