Back to School Immunization Clinics
Clay County Public Health is having Back to School Immunization Clinics exclusively for students entering Kindergarten or Kinderkids, 7th Grade, or 12th Grade every Thursday, all summer long.
These immunization updates are required by Iowa law at these grade levels. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, UNLESS they are entering 12th grade and bring a completed, signed consent form. They will be observed for 15 minutes after their vaccinations.

Vaccine recommendations vary with age. With routine visits, children can be protected from 14 diseases before the age of two. Vaccines are given again prior to school entry to boost levels of protection. Then at age 11, a few more vaccines are needed to offer immunity to diseases more common in adolescence. Clay County Public Health Services can assist with all vaccination needs as well as answer any questions you may have.
