Understanding Grief Bereavement
Losing a loved one is indescribable to someone who has not felt the loss of death. We understand the tragedy that has now encompassed your life. We identify with the difficult decisions and emotions that you now face. During your time with the Understanding Grief Support Group, you will uncover techniques to help begin the healing process in your own life. We will help guide you through the ups and downs and all the in-betweens, with a bit of laughter, a few tears, and an entire group of caring people to help support you in your healing. It is important that we not bury ourselves in the sorrow of those we have lost, but to enjoy the memories they have left behind and to share those memories with others in our lives.
Finding Hope & Healing
One way to care for yourself is to learn more about grief and mourning. We invite you to attend the Understanding Grief Bereavement Support Group to learn more about grief and aid you in the expression and processing of grief. This group will meet over a six-week period. Once the program series begins, new members will not be added to the current group; instead, they will be placed in the group meeting during the next support series. We will be offering the group several times throughout the year. We will be reading Understanding Your Grief: Ten Essential Touchstones for Finding Hope and Healing Your Heart by Alan D. Wolfelt, Ph.D. Our group will discuss the readings and have open discussions at the end of the group.
