COVID-19 Update for Athletic Enhancement:

Athletic Enhancement is open with 24/7 access for AE members!

COVID-19 Guidelines for AE Members:

  • In the last 2 weeks, have you experienced any of the following symptoms: fever, shortness of breath, cough, sore throat, headache, unexplained muscle aches, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, loss of taste or smell?
    • If yes, please stay home until symptom-free for 72 hours without the use of fever-reducing medicine.
  • In the last 2 weeks, have you had close and prolonged (over 10 minutes) contact with anyone with the above symptoms or with known COVID-19 infection?
    • If yes, stay home, monitor your symptoms and consider getting tested for COVID-19.
  • AE members must wear a mask when entering the hospital until they arrive in the fitness center. They may take the mask off during exercise, but they will wear the mask when exiting the facility.
  • AE members must keep 6 feet or 1 piece of unoccupied equipment between other members at all times.
  • AE members must use the provided disinfectant wet rags to clean the equipment after each use and allow 5 minutes of contact time before using recently sanitized equipment.

Spencer Hospital's Athletic Enhancement & Adult Fitness Center offers members an opportunity to work with exercise specialists and state-of-the-art training equipment to help meet their individual goals.

Expertise, Services, & Equipment

  • Exercise Specialists at your service as all members of the AE staff are Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialists through the National Strength & Conditioning Association.
  • 24-Hour Access for adult members 365 days a year. Students can use facilities when staff is present or with a parent or guardian during nighttime or weekend hours.
  • Fitness Equipment designed for results:
    • Cardiovascular Equipment:  Treadmills, elliptical trainers, upright bikes, recumbent bikes, dual-action bikes, stair steppers.
    • Strength Equipment: Full line of Cybex selectorized equipment, Free weights including dumbbells and barbells, Shuttle MVP, Dual Adjustable Pulley, Physioballs, and Medicine Balls.
  • Amenities: XM radio, WAIO broadcast televisions, private changing rooms with showers, unlimited towel service.
  • Medical Supervision through on-site personnel during staffed hours and emergency personnel available evenings and weekends.
  • Cardiac Enhancement is available for referred patients, Monday-Friday between 6:30 am-3:00pm, class includes medical supervision and physician progress reports.

  • Call the Fitness Center at (712) 264-6633 or e-mail  to schedule your complimentary 15-minute consultation.
  • With help from our trained staff, you choose the monthly membership plan that is best for you by completing the Health Assessment & Membership Agreement.
  • You can then decide if you'd like personal training and we'll schedule an appointment with one of our Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialists.
  • You will then receive a Membership Keycard and will be able to start your exercise program today!

Adult members receive 24-hour access with your monthly membership. Pre-pay for the year and receive a 10% discount.
