Abben Cancer Center Resource Center
Located within Abben Cancer Center and open weekdays, 8 AM – 4:30 PM. Books and tapes are available to check out which provide information on cancer care, coping with a diagnosis, nutritional information and more. The Resource Center also has wigs, head wraps, prayer shawls and other amenities which may be beneficial to anyone receiving cancer care.

Diabetes

Diabetes Self-Management Education

Spencer Hospital’s Diabetes Education and Self-Management Program is a comprehensive outpatient program that equips you to successfully manage diabetes. After getting a referral from your physician, a diabetes educator will schedule an individual initial assessment with you. After the initial assessment, the diabetes educator will help schedule you for three one-hour classes.

If you are diagnosed with diabetes, your family physician may refer you to Diabetic Education services. Our professional services are covered by many insurance companies and also by Medicare and Medicaid. Nightingale's Nurse Honor Guard

When an active or retired nurse in northwest Iowa passes away, the volunteers of the Nightingale's Nurse Honor Guard are available to help honor the deceased caregiver.
