Clay County 2-Day Peer Support Training

Date: July 13th and 14th from 8:30am-4:30pm
Location: Spencer Hospital Maple Conference Room (lower level), 1200 1st Ave E Spencer, IA 51301
Peer Support Team Member training focuses on equipping individuals with the skills to provide emotional, psychological, and practical support to their colleagues. This training emphasizes the importance of mental health and well-being in high-stress, high-risk environments where First Responders are regularly exposed to trauma, danger, and challenging situations. The primary goal of Peer Support training is to create a network of trusted peers who can help each other cope with stress, prevent burnout, and reduce the stigma associated with seeking mental health support. This training is two days (16 hours). Upon completion, participants will receive a Certificate of Specialized Training in Peer Support.

- Referral and resource knowledge

This training is available to Clay and Surrounding County Professionals (Law Enforcement, Fire, Dispatch, EMS, Healthcare Personnel). Clay County Personnel will register through this portal. Please note your employer in the comments.
