Annual Garden of Life Campaign Underway

Community members are invited to donate to the annual Garden of Life Campaign. During the Garden of Life campaign, each donation given to the Spencer Regional Healthcare Foundation in memory of a loved one or in honor of a special caregiver will be represented by a blooming plant in the hospital park.

“In years past, we’ve invited each donor who makes a gift to the Garden of Life campaign to join us for a special planting ceremony,” commented Mindy Gress, Foundation director. “However, for the health of our donors, co-workers and our community, we will have a small group of employees plant this year’s garden. We will miss the opportunity to visit with those friends with whom we’ve established special bonds, yet it’s essential to continue to focus on keeping everyone healthy as possible.”

For nearly 35 years, Hospice of Spencer Hospital has been providing support to families wherever they need care - in the home, in a care facility, or within the hospital. “Over the years, we’ve had the privilege of providing end-of-life care for many people and have made long-lasting relationships with their loved ones,” commented Colleen Paulsen, director for Hospice of Spencer Hospital. “We are sad that families are unable to join us this year, yet we assure you that our wonderful caregivers will plant each flower with the memory of those loved ones lost; whether a Hospice of Spencer Hospital patient or just simply someone special to you.”

While the Garden of Life campaign highlights Hospice of Spencer Hospital services, gifts can be designated to any department or service of the hospital and can memorialize or honor anyone near or far.

A flower will be planted in the Grand Avenue Park to symbolize each gift and a seasonal marker will be displayed listing each gift intention.
