posted on Wednesday, January 15, 2025 Abben Cancer Center of Spencer Hospital is proud to announce the expansion of its oncology services with the introduction of an outreach clinic at Pocahontas Community Hospital. Beginning in late February, Dr. Luis Cuervo, a highly respected medical oncologist from Abben Cancer Center, will see patients in Pocahontas twice a month, offering consultations, follow-up appointments, and select non-chemotherapy treatments.

Dr. Cuervo will provide full-time medical oncology services at Abben Cancer Center and serve as an associate professor at the University of Iowa. This collaboration aims to bring advanced practice standards and exceptional oncology care to our region.

This event provides an opportunity for all people living with a history of cancer or currently undergoing cancer care to connect with each other, celebrate milestones and recognize those who have supported them along the way.
