Do you struggle to sleep at night yet find yourself tired during the day? Do your sleep habits impact your family members? Want to learn how to improve your sleep? Visit the “Better Sleep Event” on Thursday, September 28 between 10 AM – 4 PM at the Spencer Medical Arts Building (Avera Medical Group Spencer location), hosted by Avera Home Medical Equipment of Spencer Hospital. Vendors of various sleep products will be available to visit with and two speakers will present information on improving sleep.

“Our Better Sleep event offers a wonderful opportunity for people to learn more about various tools which can help enhance the quality of their sleep,” said Tanya Snarski-Carlson, manager of Avera Home Medical Equipment of Spencer Hospital. “Also, we’re excited to have two speakers. Amber Brown of SomniTech will present at 11 AM on ‘Sleep’s Role in Your Overall Health.’ Amber performs sleep studies at Spencer Hospital. Then at 1 PM, Patrice Jerke of Avera Home Medical, will present ‘Tips for a Better Night’s Sleep.’ Both programs will provide valuable information.”

Staff will also be providing free CPAP cleaning and checks and will also be demonstrating SoClean, which helps cleanse and purify a CPAP unit. Other aids, such as oxygen pillows and CPAP pillows will be available.

“SoClean is an automated cleaner and sanitizer for CPAP equipment which studies have shown is able to kill 99.9% of CPAP germs and bacteria in the mask, hose and reservoir without requiring disassembly, water or chemicals,” Snarski-Carlson said. “We encourage anyone using a CPAP for easier nighttime breathing to come check out SoClean products.”

The Better Sleep wellness fair is a come and go event and pre-registration isn’t required; however, pre-registration will allow vendors to better anticipate the number of attendees.
