Behavioral Health Services Counselor-Therapist (FT)

Responsibilities:

  • This position will provide direct counseling services including assessment, treatment, interventions and recommendations to facilitate movement through the continuum of care to patients and their families.
  • Participate in and provide the counselor perspective to interdisciplinary activities.
  • Provide therapy treatment, individually or in groups, to patients, clients, and their families with complex emotional or social problems.
  • Assume basic consultation, supervisory, teaching, research, and program development in this assignment.
  • Contributes to the counseling profession, building on counseling education and experience to enhance department initiatives and patient experience.

Requirements:

  • Masters level degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology or related field, from an accredited college or university is required.
  • Current license in the state(s) of practice required.
  • An independent license to practice Social Work (LISW), Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), or Marriage and Family Counselor (LMFT) in Iowa is required. 
  • 2 years experience in individual and group therapy including DBT, CBT preferred
  • CPI and BLS preferred - onsite training provided

Job Schedule:

  • 60-80 hours a pay period
  • 8a-5p
  • Full-time benefit eligible
  • The schedule may fluctuate based upon the needs of the department
