Fuel Your Health: Discover the Power of Nutrition

posted by Darlene DeWitt, MS, RD, LD on Thursday, March 26, 2026

March is National Nutrition Month, and this year’s theme, “Discover the Power of Nutrition,” is all about showing how the choices we make about food can fuel our bodies, support our health, and make us feel our best. Nutrition isn’t just about what we eat – it's about creating habits that help us thrive every day.

Here’s how you can celebrate and put the power of nutrition into action:

  • Power Your Day with Nutrition: Fill your plate with food from all food groups and mix it up to get a variety of nutrients. Skip fad diets and focus on balanced, realistic choices that keep you energized and healthy.

  • Find Advice Backed by Science: When it comes to nutrition, not all information is created equally. A Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) can provide accurate, personalized guidance to help you meet your unique health goals.

  • Stay Nourished on Any Budget: Healthy eating doesn’t have to be expensive. Try meal prep strategies that work for your schedule and budget, explore community resources like SNAP or WIC, and take advantage of local food programs when needed.

  • Feel Good with Healthy Habits: Simple habits make a big difference. Plan meals ahead to reduce stress, practice food safety at home, and find ways to include physical activity that fit your lifestyle.

At Spencer Hospital, our team of Registered Dietitians work with patients while they are in the hospital or through outpatient services. From managing chronic conditions like diabetes and heart disease to providing tailored nutrition guidance and ongoing support, they make healthy living more achievable for everyone in our community.

We’re thankful for our dietitians and the expertise they bring to helping people feel better, stronger, and healthier every day. Discover the power of nutrition and take small steps this month to fuel your body, support your well-being, and enjoy life to the fullest!
