Taking care of your breast health is an important part of caring for yourself. At Spencer Hospital, we offer comprehensive breast health services, from screenings and diagnostic testing to surgery and cancer treatment, helping women access the care and support they need throughout their journey.

Comprehensive Breast Imaging and Diagnostic Services

Spencer Hospital is designated a Comprehensive Breast Imaging Center by the American College of Radiology, making us the only hospital within a 90-mile radius to earn this distinction.

We offer 3D mammography, breast ultrasound, and breast MRI, as well as ultrasound-guided, MRI-guided, and stereotactic breast biopsies. Our local radiologists meet with patients, answer questions, explain findings, and perform procedures right here at Spencer Hospital.

Our Breast Navigators also help patients understand what to expect and guide them through additional testing, biopsies, and next steps. We know waiting for answers can be stressful, and having someone to turn to for guidance and support can make a difference.

Breast Surgery and Cancer Treatment

If breast cancer is diagnosed, knowing where to go for care can make a difficult time a little easier. At Spencer Hospital, women have access to breast surgery and cancer treatment without traveling far from their families and support systems.

Our local surgeons perform lumpectomies and mastectomies, and a visiting plastic surgeon from Sioux Falls provides reconstructive surgery at Spencer Hospital.

Abben Cancer Center offers radiation oncology and medical oncology services, including radiation therapy, chemotherapy, and infusions. Our team works together to develop individualized treatment plans and support patients throughout treatment.

Having these services available locally helps reduce travel time and allows patients to remain connected to the people who matter most during treatment.
